SCENTinel was developed by a team of scientists to assess if someone has lost or diminished sense of smell. The SCENTinel device is not intended to provide a diagnosis of COVID-19, however loss of sense of smell is a commonly reported COVID-19 symptom. SCENTinel is a Class II exempt medical device. SCENTinel tests for smell loss/change from Covid-19 – it is a symptom check not a Covid-19 diagnostic. Not having a loss of sense in smell does not indicate a lack of COVID-19.
Seek medical attention if the test detects a loss of ability to smell properly. A complete loss of smell, partial loss of smell, or smelling something different than what is presented indicates that you should consult with a healthcare professional.
The SCENTinel device only tests your sense of smell and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
A normal test result does not rule out diseases or other conditions. Consult a healthcare professional, if you have symptoms of concern.
